The modified bar is inserted into the channel in the glass sash. With the window in it's lowered position, the regulator is shimmed out to meet it. We had to shim the regulator from the door about 1 inch (red arrow). We used plastic spacers for shims here. 5/16 inch bolts and 1/4 inch washers can also be used for this.
With the regulator carefully shimmed out to meet the window, bolts and nuts are finger tightened, holding the regulator mounting pad to our wheeled bar (blue arrow).
