Once the glass has been removed from the door, we remove the old regulator and all the other related components that we won't be needing anymore.
The old regulator was pretty simple. A gear attached to the handle moved a piece of chain. The chain pulled a cable which ran over a pulley at the top of the door. The cable was attached to the base of the window. Can't get much simpler than that.
