The plastic liner is carefully trimmed around the handles and clips that are mounted through it. The liner is held onto the door with a sticky strip around the edge. It must be carefully peeled away from the door to prevent it from ripping. The plastic liner is very important. It serves as a vapor barrier and helps eliminate outside noises from entering the vehicle. Before proceeding any farther, the window is taped up to prevent it from falling into the door.
