Chevy Astro Power Window Installation, Part 2

This is what the regulator looks like installed in the door. If you didn't know better, you might think it came from a Chevy parts department. GM04-K mounted in door

Wiring up our Astro With the regulators installed, our technician runs the wire loom through the rubber boot and into the van. If the van came without a wiring boot then a holes would be drilled in the doorjamb and grommets installed. (Hint: it is easier to drill from in the door out and from in the kick panel out)

The blue and black wires are then connected to the window motor wires and the ground ring is installed under one of the nuts. wiring up the door

Astro wiring under dash Our technician procedes to attach the right and left wirelooms together. An extra wire is teed into the red wire and connected to the heavy yellow wire in the Astro's wireloom located just below the parking brake release.

A 30 amp fuse is placed in the underdash fusebox in the slot marked for power windows (upper right corner), if a factory circuit breaker is not already there. The foam or plastic cover is then reinstalled on the door. reassembling door

Mounting the door panel The door panel is then mounted back on the door.

Our technician snaps the switches onto their panels. The wiring is then plugged into the switches and the new panel is mounted to the door. connecting Astro switches

mounting door trim The remainder of the door trim and handles are mounted and screwed together. The inner kick panels and panels under the dash are also reinstalled at this time.

Our technician can clean up and move on to the next job. This one looks and works great! Finished Astro power windows
